Image from www.stock.xchng.comMy microwave blew up suddenly a week ago in the middle of trying to cook dinner. I thought about trying to do without one for a while but two days later after burning my morning porridge in the saucepan, I decided it was time – so I grudgingly decided to venture out to purchase one.
I didn’t want to spend much money (buying appliances in the place of trendy clothing just seems wasteful) and definitely didn’t want to spend much time in getting it. I enjoy my Sundays sleeping in, cooking a late breakfast and catching up on my Austar viewing – not pushing through crowds in an appliance store and buying something I don’t really want to get.
I was about to encounter my dream shopping transaction.
I drove to The Good Guys (my first choice store) got a park right outside the front door (literally – it was 3 metres from the door) walked in, turned directly left and stood in front of a microwave. Within 10 seconds, I was greeted by a salesperson asking what kind of microwave I was after.
