The Curse of the Overcommitted Salesperson...

How many times have you entered a store and been ignored by a salesperson that is preoccupied with another customer?

Most of us have encountered this, and left feeling dissatisfied and will not return to the store again. But this begs an important question into how a salesperson can effectively manage more than one customer without dropping the service level.

My partner (Luke) and myself entered a sunglasses store, with the intention of purchasing a particular pair of glasses that we had previously scoped out in three other stores, and was now committed to purchasing. We entered and were greeted by the salesperson with the question, “Can I help you with anything?” Luke replied “No thanks, we are just looking”.
